Like a fold in the fabric of time, Fabricate, a printed work with textile content, brings together the old and new uses of the building it is installed on: printmaking, fashion and textiles.

Fabricate opens a dialogue with Baroque Art, recognising Baroque imagery in its opulence, and alchemical transformation of complete fantasy made flesh. Figures and fabric are not bound by the law of gravity, but rather exist as an embodiment of emotional resonance.

The work places this alchemical achievement in a modern context: that of the textile design student grappling with fabric that is embedded with tradition, attempting the impossible and weightless act: a creation that is new and beautiful.
